Salicar's: 2012

Last weekend we did have our first Salicar's litter members debut in a official dog show. We were showing Salicar's Salvadore 'Elmeri' and his sister Salicar's Valencia 'Puuma' at Rantasalmi, Eastern Finland. At Rantasalmi it was group show with 18 bl/br/wh medium size poodles. Huge amount of poodles in a such small show! Judge was Finnish Pirjo Aaltonen, Tibetan terrier breeder. Our trip started already on Saturday and perhaps picture of full loaded Tiina's car can tell more than thousand words:

We had total 4 dogs with us, Salicar's sisters, their "godfather" Haydee's Sachsen 'Carlos' and as a tourist havannais-puppy Rocky. And of course 4 persons, myself and Tiina and Elmeri's owner Tiina and Rocky's owner Laura. She was there to see how crazy poodle people is and I think that a small poodle fly did bit her :) Although distance was long (310km) journey didn't felt so long as we had so fun already during the trip.

Our accommodation was nice although we had some problems with electricity, wedding guests, hotel reception etc. but all's well that ends well so such a small obstacles didn't bother us at all.

Sunday morning was cloudy and wet and we thought how this day is going to end up. Our ring started already at 10.30 so we were very busy to get all 3 dogs grooming finalized and get their top knots and coat in top condition. Luckily just before our ring started sun started to shine and ring looked much more attractive :)

First it was Elmeri's turn to show him at the huge junior male class. He showed him excellently and looked so much older than he is. He got excellent judgement and ended up as a 3rd among 7 junior males with EXC and CQ. Not a bad result from a just 9 months old boy! After Elmeri it was Carlos turn to show at the champion class. He was so full of energy after a long break and I really enjoyed showing him. Judge liked him a lot and he ended up as a BM1 with EXC and CQ. After BM ring it was Puuma's turn and she was having a cranky day as before her class Tiina trained her and Puuma didn't want to move on all her four legs, only on hind legs :) On the ring she was concentrating more and ended up JUN3 with EXC.

On the BOB-ring Carlos was having more fun and he ended up as a BOB! So proud of my boy who has shown only very limited. Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the group finals as those were scheduled to start so late that we would probably still be travelling back home :)
